We speak to a lot of our clients about why they choose to outsource and what concerns they may have had at the outset. The relationship when it works, works because it is a two way street. Both the client and the consultant work hard to deliver the project.

Here’s is some of the feedback we have received.

• Always remember outsourcing does not mean you wash your hands of the project. Whether through regular reports or updates it’s important to put a system in place to monitor activity and progress
• Establish your expectations and goals at the outset. That way both you and the consultant can devise a strategy to get there
• The key to a good relationship is great communication.
• Manage any internal relationships to ensure no one’s nose is out of joint by the presence of the contractor. Sometimes employees can be worried about their own jobs so it’s important they are kept up to date on progress, or can even have a hand in managing the project.
